This past week we had a virus going around. Jaren and I were safe from it but Reilly and then eventually Avery got it. R just had a fever. A had a fever along with vomiting. It couldn't have come at a better time. We've been having challenges with A's health lately. She's lost weight since her last appt. and her eczema has been so bad and along with that she has an infection around her mouth somehow... we thought it was just getting raw because of her binkie. She got an antibiotic but had an allergic reaction to it. A good dose of Childern's Zyrtec made it go away. Whew... that was a close one.
We decided to start A on formula since she lost weight . Milk doesn't agree with her so we started her on Soy and she does very well with it. She's a happier baby after feeding her. She used to scratch her face and back of her neck to the bleeding stage. It was frustrating because we didn't know what it was.. or we thought it was the eczema. The doctor wanted to see us back in two weeks to see if she has gained weight. Today was that appt. She gained a whopping 8 oz. that's not too bad considering the virus she just had. While the Dr. was checking her out she saw that she had an ear infection. Golly... Avery just can't make it easy for us. The good thing is, is that she has no signs of the ear infection. No fever, no fussiness, no pulling at her ear....nothing. So, we're not going to chance the affects of an antibiotic for now. I'm hoping that it'll go away on it's own. What is life without a little drama???

Good gracious! I'm sorry your kiddos have been sick. Great to hear that Avery is gaining weight though. We have all been sick too. Forrest had a fever for a few days, then Bill got the virus and ended up with a lung infection. We are all on the mend too though!
This sounds like Indy in his first 2-3 years of life. When he was just 3 months old his excema was so bad and it would never go away. He was also really snotty, it looked like he always had a cold. Then he developed asthma when he was 1year old. To make a long story short, we figured out it was food allergies. Since then his asthma has disappeared, no more excema and he's not so snotty. Good luck with it all. It's hard to see our babies sick.
